Marauders - The Red Baron

Marauders is a super-fun diesel-punk extraction-style game, in which players must extract as much resources as they can from derelict space stations before enemies (or other players) blast them into space fodder. I played a good deal of it when it first launched in Early Access, and I’ve been meaning to play more of it for a good while now.

It looks like now is as good a time as any to jump back in, as the game just launched its first major update, which introduces the Red Baron. The Red Baron shows up as a raid boss in the game now, so you can do battle against him with up to four players. The Rad Baron has his own eerily-lit ship, which you must board if you want to take on the reddest of all barons.

With this update, the game is also handling larger player counts, with up to 10 crews per match (for a hypothetical max player count of 40). Additionally, daily contracts are getting reworked a bit. To accommodate these changes, there’s unfortunately been a server wipe, so hopefully you didn’t get too attached to your stuff.

But, as a reward for toughing this one out, you also have access to a brand-new weapon, the  L1A1 Battle Rifle.

You can read all about the update in this blog post on the Marauders Steam page.

If you want to check out the trailer for the Red Baron update, I’ll post it below. I should warn you beforehand, though, that it really doesn’t show much. Anyway, here it is:
