Red Dead Online Prestigious Bounty Hunter License Rewards – A Complete Breakdown

Rockstar added ten additional levels of progression for the Bounty Hunter role in Red Dead Online, calling it the Prestigious Bounty Hunter License. It costs 15 gold bars to buy into it, and you can purchase it at any bounty board. I should point out that this is on top of what you already paid to buy into the role in the first place.

Beyond these ten ranks, there is also the opportunity to earn points that can be converted into gold or RDO$, though I haven’t been able to mess around with this yet. I’ll update this post once I get some post-30 time in on my character.

Honestly, I’m in this one for the quality-of-life upgrades. A larger provisions carrying capacity? Yes, please. Additional skills to more easily track bounty targets? I’m sold.

As far as the cosmetic goodies, I guess it’s cool that you can unlock new designs for your bounty wagon, but I’ve never really cared for the Bounty Hunter apparel in the first place, and I’m not a huge fan of the new items either. I’m just not the sort of player who wants to adorn myself in golden skulls, I suppose. The LeMat variant is cool, but I’ve long since joined the Navy Revolver club, and I don’t see myself going back to the LeMat simply for an aesthetic upgrade. The new bola designs are really nasty, though, and I’ll probably run with those.

Also, the flavor text claims that there are new horses to unlock, though I’m not seeing those.

Where are the new horses, Rockstar? A new Rank 30 Bounty Hunter Horse would really make this package worthwhile.

I should point out that there actually are new horses, but they’re not connected to the Bounty Hunter role at all. They’re really just new coat colors and patters for the Mustang and Missouri Fox Trotter. So, hooray?

All in all, I’m not incredibly impressed by the new ranks. Will I purchase them? Of course. Will I rank up to 30? For sure. Am I thrilled about it? I would call my feelings ambivalent at this point. Yeah, that’s the word. Ambivalent.
