Not to be confused with the Mausoleum set, the Mausoleum Knight Armor set in Elden Ring is a highly sought-after batch of gear. The chestpiece is especially cool, with some wing-like protrusions (with actual feathers) on the back and a cape. I do love me a good cape.
Let’s just get a closer look at those feathers before we go any further…

There is no helm, because the Mausoleum Knight is headless.
So where do you get all this lovely gear? Well, let me show you!
The location you’re looking for is called Black Knife Catacombs. This is actually part of a questline involving Fia (the hug lady), who will give you an item called the Knifeprint Clue. If you investigate this item, you’ll see a map to the location in question.
As you can see, this shows a ravine that has a Minor Erdtree on the left side and a tower to the right. Such a location does exist in Elden Ring; it’s way up in the northeast corner of Liurnia, southeast of the Grand Lift of Dectus.

I should warn you that this is a high-level area. At level 75, I was still getting absolutely wrecked by the arrows that those minotaurs shoot. If you start at the Church of Vows (which I used as a starting point for my Fire Monk farming run), you can snake your way northward, keeping as far right as you can — if you veer off too far to the left, you’ll run into the minotaurs. It’s best to sort of ride the western cliff edge while making your way northward.
As you approach the entrance to the Black Knife Catacombs, you will spot your target, the ethereal, headless Mausoleum Knight. If you can get past him, there is a Site of Grace directly through the door that’s behind him. Once you activate this site of grace, the farming can commence.
Note that this guy is absolutely brutal. He has a ton of health and a very effective shield. On top of that, he can turn ethereal, which makes him untouchable temporarily. He has a tendency to do this right at the moment when you think you’ve got a good opening too, so he can be kind of frustrating.
Oh, and did I mention that his sword deals the Deathblight effect? Because it does.
My go-to strategy for taking him down is getting right up behind him and nailing a stealth attack, which does a great deal of damage and knocks him over. If you’re quick to snap your target to him afterward, you can get in a few more jabs as he’s trying to get back up. I should point out that even if you whittle his health down to almost nothing, he can still turn around and stomp you in no time flat. Be careful.
Now, these drops aren’t super common. My Discovery stat is at 109.0, and I noticed that he dropped something every four to five times I killed him. I got pretty lucky, in that I only got one duplicate, so I had the full set after killing him 26 times.
