If you play Red Dead Online religiously, then you probably know that the game gets a fresh update every Tuesday. Sometimes, small drips of new content will be added, but for the most part, this just includes shop discounts and weekly rewards.
Recently, Rockstar has been really good at giving Red Dead Online players new content each week. Usually, this is just a new Legendary animal or two, but sometimes it includes really cool things like Vitalism Studies, which lets you temporarily transform into an animal.
Today, September 29, Red Dead Online got yet another Tuesday update. (This comes hot off the heels of Red Dead Redemption 2‘s 1.24 patch, which maybe does some things but we’re not really sure.)
Today’s update rewards you simply for logging into the game. That’s right, if you log into Red Dead Online between now and October 5, you will receive 10 Fire Arrows, 10 Poison Arrows, and 10 Small Game Arrows. They will be delivered to your lockbox (or they can be picked up at a post office). I don’t use Fire Arrows or Poison Arrows very often, and I think I still have some waiting for me at the post office from a previous reward. The Small Game Arrows are nice if you’re trying to get perfect caracasses of smaller animals, though.
This week, we also get two new Legendary animals, the Legendary Knight Moose and the Legendary Snowflake Moose. The Legendary Knight Moose can be found near the Kamassa River during the day, while the Legendary Snowflake Moose can be found near Barrow Lagoon on rainy nights.
If you’re lucky enough to catch a glimpse of one of these majestic creatures, you can earn yourself some rewards. If you sedate and sample either moose, you will get an offer for 30% off a weapon of your choice. If you go the lethal route and kill a Legendary Moose, Gus will pay you 50% extra for the pelt. Like previous Legendary animals, each of these comes with its own coat, specially made by your good pal Gus.
On top of all this, there are some in-game discounts you can take advantage of for a limited time. You can learn more about those in the Dirty Tyler video below.
Finally, this week we have a new login screen to celebrate the addition of the new Legendary Moose. Mooses? Meese?
